The petitioner, proceeding pro se, seeks issuance of a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. He challenges the verdicts returned against him by a jury of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on the grounds that he received ineffective assistance of counsel both at trial and on direct appeal to the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (“DCCA”).
