Appellant was first convicted of two counts of capital murder and two counts of attempted capital murder. He was sentenced to death by lethal injection on one of the counts of capital murder, life imprisonment on the other count of capital murder, and thirty years imprisonment on each of the counts of attempted murder. We reversed and remanded because of trial error. Mauppin v. State, 309 Ark. 235, 831 S.W.2d 104 (1992).
