A judgment having been obtained in December, 1846, in the name of M. & B. Mullen & Go. against Amos & Roe, a writ of fieri facias was issued by their attorney on the 29th of December, 1840. In March, 1847, a seizure was made by the Sheriff of Madison parish, of certain lands, slaves, horses, cattle, corn, and farming utensils, which, in May following, were struck off in block to Hynes, for a sum of $3830, as appears by the Sheriff’s return, which concludes with the following statement: “The said Hynes has authorized me to credit this writ the same.” A Sheriff’s deed for the…
