Defendant, George Dean, was convicted of murder in the criminal court of Cook County and on June 26, 1956, was sentenced to the penitentiary for a term of sixty years. On defendant’s application this court, on June 14, 1961, issued its writ of error. Defendant assigned as error the trial court’s conduct in coercing him to accept the public defender as counsel and also the incompetency of his counsel.
