Here is the case in outline. After divorce, custody of the two minor children of the marriage was granted to the mother, with visitation rights to the father. The mother, a member of a Congregational church, later complained that the father, who had become a Jehovah’s Witness, was indoctrinating the children in that faith, and that this confused and disoriented the children and in some degree alienated them from her.
