BEAM, Circuit Judge.
Gregory Andler appeals the denial of Social Security benefits. Because we find that Andler’s two brief periods of employment in a twenty-four year period of disabling mental illness were unsuccessful work attempts, we reverse.
I. BACKGROUND
Andler is forty-nine years old. He has a high-school education and previous work experience as a carpenter’s helper. He is a Vietnam veteran and has been diagnosed as suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
