Edwards v. Cason

This is an action to obtain custody of a seven-year-old illegitimate girl. It was brought by the mother against the putative father and his mother who has possession of the child. The trial court found that (1) the petitioner had relinquished her parental rights by voluntary contract, (2) the petitioner had abandoned the child by failing to provide for her support, and (3) it was in the best interest of the child that she remain in the custody of the putative father’s mother.
