Mr. Jesse I. Moritz, a lawyer, instituted this action for libel against the Kansas City Star Company, the publisher of the Kansas City Star and the Kansas City Times. The action was in four counts, based upon a series of four articles published in the' Star and the Times on October 20th, 21st, 27th and November 3rd, 1945. There was a jury verdict for the defendant on the third and fourth counts, and a verdict for the plaintiff on the first count for $3500 actual and $3500 punitive damages, and on the second count for $3250 actual and $3250 punitive damages.
