delivered the opinion of the court:

Following a jury trial, defendant, Don LaRue, was convicted of first-degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9 — 1(a) (West 1994)), aggravated vehicular hijacking (720 ILCS 5/18 — 4(a)(3) (West 1996)), and armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/18 — 2(a) (West 1994)). He was sentenced to concurrent terms of 50 years’ imprisonment for the first-degree murder, 30 years’ imprisonment for the aggravated vehicular hijacking, and 30 years’ imprisonment for the armed robbery.
