The plaintiff in this suit seeks to foreclose a mortgage covering realty situated in the County of Spartanburg. The controversy between the parties relates to a claimed credit in the sum of $400.88. The proof shows that on January 5, 1935, this amount was turned over by the defendant, Alma E. Ledford, to F. Gentry Harris, an attorney at law, who died by his own hand on February 5, 1935. The money in the form of a-check was delivered to Mr. Harris by the named defendant, to be forwarded to the plaintiff as a credit on her mortgage.…
