INTRODUCTION

The defendant has been indicted on charges of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, a firearm,' in violation of G.L.c. 265, §15B(b); possession of a firearm, in violation of G.L.c. 269, §10(a); possession of ammunition, in violation of G.L.c. 269, §10(h); and carrying a loaded firearm, in violation of G.L.c. 269, §10(n).
