Twelve cheerleaders from Denfeld High School (Denfeld), Duluth, Minnesota, riding in a van, were involved in an automobile collision at 5 a.m., August 30, 1980, while they were “bannering” the homes of the school’s football players in anticipation of the season’s first game later that day.
