Before the court are cross motions for summary judgment.1 Plaintiff David Carlile brings this action under the Employee Retirement Security Act (ERISA).2 Carlile moves for summary judgment arguing Defendants Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company (Reliance) and Reliance Standard Life Insurance Policy Number LTD 123420 (the Policy) wrongfully denied his claim for long term disability benefits.
