Emma Lee Snyder Hepperman was convicted of poisoning her husband and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The State's evidence was that on March 3, 1940, Anthony (Tony) Hepperman was a widowed farmer, fifty-one years of age, living about two and one-half miles from Wentzville in St. Charles County. His family consisted of a daughter, Ethel, eleven years of age, and a son, Herbert, twenty-three, who left home shortly after his marriage to Emma.
