On November 15, 1907, Mark Bates filed a claim in the County Court of Grundy county against the estate of Thomas M. Cronin, deceased, based upon a promissory note dated August 3, 1906, for the principal sum of $3,832.25, for value received, signed “Cronin Bros.” and “T. M. Cronin,” payable to the order of Doyle Brothers and by them indorsed in blank. Two payments of $100 each were indorsed upon said note.
