ROVIRA, Justice.
The case is a consolidation of two separate appeals brought by the defendant, Charles Raymond Small, as a result of his conviction for first-degree murder in violation of section 18-8-102(1)(b), C.R.S.1978 (1978 Repl. Vol. 8) (the felony murder statute). In case number 7984885, the defendant argues that he was denied his constitutional rights to due process and a speedy trial as a result of delay in bringing him to trial. See U.S.Const. Amend.
