OPINION OF THE COURT

STONE, Senior Judge:

The appellant pled not guilty to two charges stemming from the death of his infant son. A military judge, sitting alone at a general court-martial, found the appellant guilty, as charged, of involuntary manslaughter by culpable negligence, a violation of Article 119(b)(1), UCMJ, and maiming, a violation of Article 124, UCMJ, 10 U.S.C. *623§§ 919(b)(1), 924. The convening authority approved the adjudged sentence of a dishonorable discharge, confinement for 6 years, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and reduction to the grade of E-l.
