I. NATURE OF CASE
Clyde W. Bronson, Sr., was convicted in 1992 of first degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. The convictions and sentences were affirmed on direct appeal to this court. State v. Bronson, 242 Neb. 931, 496 N.W.2d 882 (1993). On May 8,2002, the district court for Douglas County granted Bronson’s motion to subject evidence in his case to DNA testing pursuant to Nebraska’s DNA Testing Act, Neb. Rev.
