Plaintiff, a California corporation, in its original complaint based upon a promissory note for $3,000, dated March 17, 1926, signed “Western Engineering & Construction Co. by C. A. McNeill,” named, as parties defendant,. “Adolph Galland, Janet Converse, C. A. McNeill, E. L. Lindsey, and Howard J. Eish, copartners doing business under the firm name and style of Western Engineering & Construction Co.” '
