This court's opinion of November 30, 2007, is withdrawn, and the following is substituted therefor.

Millry Mill Company appeals from a judgment of the trial court awarding Jimmy L. Manuel permanent-total-disability benefits pursuant to the Alabama Workers' Compensation Act, § 25-5-1 et seq., Ala. Code 1975 ("the Act"). We affirm in part, reverse in part, and remand.
