In these proceedings, the Carbon County District Attorney’s office on behalf of the Commonwealth asks the court to direct that a portion of the proceeds of forfeited bail be paid as restitution to the victim of the underlying criminal offense. Whether the court has the legal authority to direct such *507payment and, if so, whether the court should exercise its discretion as requested by the Commonwealth are the issues before the court.
