Sandra Pugh was convicted of killing her husband and sentenced to life imprisonment. 1 Her sole defense at trial was that she killed her husband because she was a victim of battered woman syndrome.
Appellant testified at trial that she had been severely abused throughout the seven years of her marriage to the victim. She testified that she and the victim were both drinking on the night of the shoot ing.
