This is an application addressed to this court, in the exercise of its original jurisdiction, for a writ of habeas corpus in behalf of Edward Petry, who is, according to the complaint which is the basis of the proceeding, unlawfully imprisoned by the respondent, George W. Leidigh, as warden of the penitentiary.
