POEEENBARGER, JUDGE :

Briglham Ward, a resident of the city of Charleston, and an eccentric old man, died on the 7th day of April, 1896, leaving a will which, he had executed two days before his death. Many of his peculiarities and eccentricities are attributed to the fact that from his birth he had been afflicted with what is called a cleft palate, which interfered with his speech. He was originally from New Hampshire, and came to this state in 1859.
