The plaintiff, having obtained the necessary legislative authority by virtue of Act 354 of 1940, instituted this suit against the State of Louisiana seeking to recover damages for personal injuries and other damages incidental thereto, in the total sum of $57,012. The claim arises out of an accident which occurred at about 12 o'clock midnight on December 3, 1938, on a bridge some few hundred yards west of the Town of Abita Springs in the Parish of St. Tammany.
