|2The Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office filed a bill of information charging defendant, Orlando Lane, with one count of possession of a firearm while in possession of marijuana in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95(E) and one count of second offense possession of marijuana in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966(C). He pled not guilty and proceeded to trial on count one only on August 19, 2008. 1 After considering the evidence presented, a twelve person jury found defendant guilty as charged.
