In May of 1976, the defendant was tried and found guilty of the crime of failure to appear, in violation of § 53a-172 of the General Statutes. He appealed from the judgment rendered, alleging that the trial court erred in denying his pretrial motions, in certain evidentiary rulings, and in its charge to the jury. The defendant also challenges the constitutionality of § 53a-172.
