Appeal from the Court of Chancery. The nature of the case will sufficiently appear from the decree of the chancellor, and the statement made by the judge who delivered the opinion of this court. Bland, Chancellor, (September term, 1824,) It appears that Joseph Williams died seized in fee of about 175 acres of land, and having made no will, it descended, according to law, to his children, Thomas, Joseph, Sarah the wife of Knighton, Mary the wife of Leadenham, and Elizabeth Jinn Ball, the granddaughter and heir of the intestate’s daughter Elizabeth. at this term delivered the opinion of the Court In May 1816, Thomas and Joseph Williams, Gassaway Knighton, and Sarah his wife, and Edward Leadenham, and Mary his wife, exhibited their bill in chancery against Elizabeth Ann Ball, setting forth that a certain Joseph Williams died intestate and seized of about 175 acres of land in AnneArundel county, leaving the said complainants, Thomas, Joseph, Mary and Sarah, and a certain Ann Bird, the wife of John Bird, his children, and a grandson named John Ball, the son of a deceased daughter Elizabeth, his heirs, to whom the said land descended.
