OPINION OF THE COURT

GENT, Judge:

A general court-martial composed of officer members convicted the appellant, pursuant to his pleas, of using cocaine on divers occasions in violation of Article 112(a), UCMJ, 10 U.S.C. § 912(a). The court members sentenced him to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for 12 months, and reduction to the grade of E-l. The convening authority reduced the confinement to 8 months, but otherwise approved the remaining sentence.
