In fifteen separate lawsuits, approximately one hundred and nine plaintiffs filed personal injury actions against the defendants, United Illuminating Company (UI), ABB C-E Services, Inc. (ABB), New England Abatement Resources, Inc. (NEAR) and Allwaste Asbestos Abatement, Inc.
