The defendant was charged with the crime of murder in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-54a and 53a-8. In accordance with the provisions of Public Acts 1983, No. 83-210, § l,* 1 this court held a hearing to determine whether “there is probable cause to believe that the offense charged has been committed and that the accused person has committed it.” At the hearing a statement made by the defendant to the police concerning the factual circumstances surrounding the incident in question was offered in evidence.
