Karenna T. Jones (“defendant”) appeals from judgment entered upon a jury verdict finding her guilty of felonious larceny. We reverse.

The State presented evidence tending to show: in June of 2002, Ora Evans (“the victim”), a resident of Onslow County, returned to 5226 Shields Road in Tillery, North Carolina, to take care of her ailing mother.
