GREENWOOD, Senior Judge:

11 Bradley R. Callister appeals from the district court's grant of summary judgment in favor of Snowbird Corporation. Callister argues that summary judgment was inappropriate because expert testimony was not nee-essary to pursue his claims and because his reliance on the doctrine of res ipsa loquitur should have been sufficient to withstand summary judgment. He further argues that if expert testimony was required, then the district court abused its discretion when it refused to extend the discovery deadlines so that he could designate an appropriate expert…
