¶ 1. This appeal arises out of Leonard Carey’s conviction, in the Hinds County Circuit Court, for the murder of Philip Charleston, and resulting life sentence in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. On April 27, 2010, Carey filed a motion for a new trial or, in the alternative, a judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV), which the circuit court denied.
