The defendant was charged on March 29, 1973, by an information with the crime of aggravated battery. A preliminary hearing was held on April 5, 1973, and on April 10, 1973, the defendant waived indictment and pled gmlty to the offense of aggravated battery. Pursuant to a plea agreement the defendant was sentenced to probation for a period of 3 years. The defendant was represented by counsel at the preMminary hearing and also at his plea of guilty.
