MEMORANDUM OPINION

STEPHEN S. MITCHELL, Bankruptcy Judge.

This matter is before the court on the debtor’s motion for sanctions against a local tax authority for violating the co-debtor stay and the automatic stay. 1 A hearing was held on April 29, 1997, at which oral argument was presented. At the conclusion of the hearing the court took under advisement the issue of whether the co-debtor stay of § 1301, Bankruptcy Code, is violated when a taxing authority places a lien on a co-debtor’s bank account for unpaid personal property taxes on the debtor’s automobile. 2 For the reasons stated herein,…
