Plaintiff, from 1902 and up to the time of its loss on August 29, 1926, was the owner of the steamship Zillah, registered at the port of Duluth and used in transportation of freight on the Great Lakes. Defendants are underwriters, engaged in the business of marine insurance. On August 12, 1926, defendants issued to plaintiff a policy of marine insurance for the term of one year upon the hull, machinery, etc. of this steamship.
