Defendant Neville Carl Simpson, also known as “Evon Dixon” (“defendant” or “Simpson”), appeals from a judgment of conviction entered by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (George B. Daniels, Judge), on January 28, 2002. The District Court convicted Simpson, after he pleaded guilty, to one count of illegal reentry of an aggravated felon, in violation of 8 U.S.C. §§ 1326(a), (b)(2), 1 - and sentenced him principally to 18 months of imprisonment.
