This is an action of replevin to recover possession of a stock of groceries contained in a market in the city of Yakima. The market was operated by H. E. Vines under the trade name of Vines Trading Company. Vines made a common law assignment for the benefit of creditors to the defendant corporation, Seattle Association of Credit Men, and shortly thereafter the plaintiff commenced its action to repossess the stock of groceries, claiming that Vines had possession only as its consignee.
