BRIGHT, Circuit Judge.
Dr. Virgil L. Hayden brought this action in federal district court against the Jefferson Regional Medical Center (Medical Center), its administrator, and twenty-one doctors on the hospital medical staff. He alleged that in taking disciplinary action against him, defendants 1) denied him equal protection and due process in violation of the fourteenth amendment and 42 U.S.C. § 1983; 2) conspired to form a group boycott against him and combined to assert monopoly power in violation of sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act; 3) made defamatory statements about him;…
