CARPENETI, Justice.

I,. INTRODUCTION

This case presents difficult problems arising from the superior court's resolution of contested property and alimony issues, which occurred over three and one-half years after the grant of divorce. We address three major issues-(1) the division of the marital property, (2) alimony, and (8) attorney's fees. The first issue, property division, has several sub-parts; we affirm the superior court's decision in some respects and reverse it in others.
