Smith, Justice.

The appellant, Henry C. Robinson, was indicted for felony murder, murder, and rape. The trial judge directed a verdict in his favor on the felony murder count. The jury found him guilty of murder and rape, for which he received consecutive life sentences. We affirm.

The evidence showed that on November 27, 1985, the appellant and the victim walked to several lounges where they drank some beer. After leaving the lounges, the appellant took the victim into an apartment building where, on the landing of the stairwell, he raped and strangled her to death. The victim’s body was found…
