The Rome and Carrollton Railroad Company obtained an amendment to its charter in 1886, authorizing it to extend its line from the city of Rome in a northerly direction through the counties of Bloyd, Chattooga and Walker to any point on the line dividing the States of Georgia and *615Tennessee, in Walker or Catoosa county.
