This was an action of assumpsit brought by Corey against Jordan on the indorsement of a promissory note. The note was made by one Bean to the defendant for the payment of 373 dollars, on the 15th of September, 1848, at the Lafayette branch of the State Bank of Indiana. The declaration alleges that the note was made without consideration.
The defendant pleaded the general issue.
Verdict and judgment for the plaintiff.
