Appellant Ellis Dwight Williams commenced this civil rights action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (1970), seeking a declaratory judgment, injunctive relief, and damages based on the Blytheville, Arkansas School District’s decision not to renew his employment as a non-tenured teacher and basketball coach for the 1973-1974 school term. Named as defendants in the lawsuit were the individual Blytheville School Board directors and the school district itself.
