HEDRICK, Chief Judge.
Defendant first assigns error to the trial court’s denial of his pretrial motion to sever the charges of assault from the charges of robbery and conspiracy. Because defendant did not renew this pretrial motion before or at the close of all evidence as required by G.S. 15A-927(a)(2), he waived any right to severance. State v. Silva, 304 N.C. 122, 282 S.E. 2d 449 (1981).
