Defendant, John T. Ethridge, was indicted in the circuit court of Du Page County on three counts of reckless homicide (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 9 — 3) premised upon his driving his vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic (count I), based upon his operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving his vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic (count II), and founded upon his having a blood-alcohol concentration of .10 or more and driving his vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic (count III).
