The defendants, Derrick Butler and Phillip Butler, brothers, were found guilty in a bench trial of armed robbery and attempt rape. They were each sentenced to concurrent terms of 4 to 5 years for armed robbery and 1 to 3 years for attempt rape.
The complainant testified to her ample opportunity to observe the defendants immediately prior to and during the assault. She went to a store at 75th and Essex in Chicago, a block from her home, about 10 p.m. on May 15,1973.
