Plaintiff, Lois Buttles, filed this action in the circuit court of Cook County for personal injuries sustained when she fell off of a transport cart, or gumee, while a patient at defendant, Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center (Rush). After trial, a jury returned a verdict for Buttles in the amount of $332,998.15.
