Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Torraca, J.), entered August 19, 1998 in Ulster County, which granted defendants’ motions for summary judgment dismissing the complaint.

Plaintiff injured her lower back when she fell from a horse on September 2, 1993. She was taken by ambulance to defendant Benedictine Hospital (hereinafter the hospital), where she *812was examined by defendant Ferdinand Anderson, an emergency room physician.
